In case you want to know.
I found the new MaXtreme driver for 3dMax5 on the
Nvidias homepage.

This driver only works for the Quadro cards and not the consumer stuff, correct?

Could you please direct us to this url? The latest versions I see are...

4.00.25
4.00.26

Both of these have been available for quite some time. Both are buggy with max5. Do you have a link to a version newer then .26?

After all my complaints about Maxtreme 4.00.26 and a bug report to PNY I got contacted by an Nvidia guy acknowledging all but one bug (crashing on open sample files) and stating that the new version is in beta and will be out really soon. So I'm looking forward to it.

that is good news. using the openGL driver at 75% the performance of the maxtreme drivers is depressing. especially when i consider how much the quadro card cost me in the first place. (well, cost teh company at least). :)

I got some problems too with this driver.
I canīt use videopost , Max crasches.
But I got a reply to from PNY that says that it will be a new release in a couple of weeks

I've heard 4.00.28 is supposed to fix most bugs. Although I couldn't find it on Nvidia's site yet I could find it through Google - here (http://fernando.darocha.free.fr/) . I guess it's not an official Nvidia release. It seems to fix some major problems such as invisible vertices in editable poly and color artifacts on editable splines. There are still some bugs, but it's definitely an improvement.

It still crashes on opening some sample files such as biplane, appollo and rabbit. [edit] I think I could beat it into submission and now it doesn't crash. Can't figure out exactly which settings are responsible for that.
