View Full Version : Auto reload images in modeller

Is there any way to get modeller to auto reload bitmaps on surfaces to make texture painting easier.

At the moment it is a case of opening the image editor, choosing the right image, clicking on replace, browsing to the image and hitting ok.

Ideally it would be nice if each time a photoshop.psd bitmap was saved it could be reloaded and previewed in modeller on the object just by alt tabbing to modeller from photoshop.

Otherwise could there be an action programmed whereby the image editor was automatically opened and the current bitmap replaced without having to browse to the file each time an adjustment is saved.

Ctrl F4 is great for opening the image editor but i have not been able to find any way of applying a keyboard shortcut to open the edited bitmap.

any help would be apreciated.

thanks

Nope....you have to do it manually...

They are coming with a Aura/Lightwave plugin that one may be able to paint in Aura and have Lightwave update it....but it is a while away yet and if you dont have Aura then you are a step behind already.

I wish it would update, acouple a weeks ago I had to do some UV work and it about wore me out....back and forth...back and forth....

Wellll...
I donīt know if it is possible (it would be a good thing). I allways name my textures like this:

face_color_00
face_color_01
face_spec_00
face_bump_00
face_bump_01
face_bump_02
eye_color_00
eye_color_01, etc.

It is.. arj!! frustrating.

Ok, I know it is not the perfection in terms of workflow, but what I do is when working on a map picture, once I selected it in the image editor, I just have to hit replace + "return" without browsing, because LW remember the last edited pic, and in what directory it is. So I don't loose too much time...
