View Full Version : Athlon XP motherboard

I'm building a PC for my friend, and I need a motherboard for about $100-110 bucks. It will be used mostly for games and digital pictures and stuff like that, not for 3D.
What should I get for that price?

i can get an Epox 8RDA+ for $AU 219 here, which in $US puts it in your price range.
it's generally agreed apon that the best performing athlonXP board at the moment is anything built on the nforce2 chipset. you can get these boards at the high end with firewire, usb 2.0, and lan onboard, and at the low end bare-bones for pretty cheap. the other good thing is that these boards are 333FSB capable, which means in 6-12 months time you won't be forced to chuck your board out to upgrade.
it seems most of the guys in here are pretty happy with Asus' current nforce2 board also. dunno what your local prices are like on that guy however.
