Hey Everyone,
I've been working on this creature and it is in progress. No textures have been applied nor animation. Any critiques would be appreciated.

i also... like the design... as far as the model goes, the ass is a bit too big in comparison to the concept. Also, the legs are a lot thicker.

the butt cheeks look alittle to separated i think, other than that the designs pretty good. it might be alittle hard though animating this he seems alittle off balanced. might have to play around with that some.

I don't know why, but in order for me to really enjoy this character, I need to see it have some sort of transportation. Like maybe a car of some sort, or a hovercraft. Maybe some tentacles that it hears with?

Hey, I can send you a neat motorcycle, he'll probably look good on...

...And maybe control the handlebars with the tentacles on his back...

And his tentacles should be long enough that he can walk like a daddy-long-legs. You know, hanging in the middle while enormous tentacles are crawling him across the promenade?

Also, when he wears a knapsack, it should rest on his head. While the tentacles hold the pak down from both straps. He can also conveniently do his grocery shopping within ten seconds in a medium sized grocery store, and in 5 seconds to get a lemonade slurpee, citrus toffees, and a strawberry milk. Because although he moves slowly trough life, his ever so convenient tantacles are in constant motion removing obstacles in his way...

Haider.

Thanks alot for the opinions..
My imagination tells me that this creature would have lot's to talk about. It's butt should definetally be fixed.. I'll do that machuca. I would like to rigg and animate him before April although I just began learning Maya five months ago.

hkbasravi, Thanks for your comment and letting your imagination go wild!!
I would really like to see what you imagine on concept art, perhaps attach an image? It would give me a bit more to work with and produce what you see. I do see some kind of belt around him, or some type of necessity around it's knees, but no clear picture. Until then..

I'd love to hear some more comments from other professionals

Here's a quick concept drawing of what I had in mind. The tentacles can be controlled using morph targets if you have a few presets. I don't know how it works in Maya.

But in Max, if you make a set of tentacles, and then copy them, you can set each one as a different morph target. And if you don't add or subtract any vertices from the copied set of tentacles, then you can set them in a variety of different postions and morph from one to the other, giving the tentacles a continuous flow.
