Eugeny 03-17-2002, 01:47 PM Hi guys! what's up? Here is my new character for god's and demons...
Her name is Mara(Morena) and she comes from slovenian(ukraine) Mythology. Shes the god of death and winter and shes appears in stories in different ways. One of the versions is a tall woman with long black hair and black shaggy clothes. Another is a girl in white clothes who looks ghostlike. Usually she's portrayed as an old woman with dry skin and body. Very Ugly! again with long black hair which is untidy. That's the version I chose because th others are too conventional and I saw too many of them in the forum. Her weapon is a scythe (just like the grim reaper's) she cuts the threads of life with it. she apperas mainly in battles and kidnaps the fallen soldiers and according to stories she jabs her long fingernails and great teeth into the flesh of her corpses. She is actually the Head goddess of all evil. In french mythology Morena appears at night and sits on one's chest thus causing him to see nightmares. She also appears in different mythologies such as the Romanian, Persian and others.
In the meantime I only sketched the head and the body will come later. Unfortunatley I can only work on it over the weekends. I'll also make an environment.

I like the hairs a lot.
Maybe something to change is the skin texture, try to make a better mix.
Try maybe some clothes.

This is one sick demonbitch. Great job man. I like the idea of a less specular skin tone. I know the first renders you did were generic shaders, but if you can do like a treebark texture on that mottled red skintone, you'll make us all hurl.:scream:

I'v been following this since almost the begining and I must say this model is one of the scariest things I'v ever seen:eek:
Only two things I can critique, that is the new hair, it looks to full on the top of the head and the eyes, not sure how it would look but maybe you should remove that gray spot and have them completely black, might work better, dont know

Other than that, this one rocks...I love the last pic (darker and more orange/red like with an influence of blue) And then, the threads of life, that's really scary...It's like a small kid holding a bunch of balloons, only this is the biatch that steals all the ballons and turn them into life threads... *LOL*

Thats some cool snit.
Wrap one/or more of those glowing worm thing's tail around her arm or leg. They seem more like lunch the weapon/pets.
