cool to see other people use 3d ... but 2d will always rule the DS. :)
nice job
Neat stuff Jan-Mark and Liam (Jan-Mark, that would make a killer headdress; loved your gray alien, Liam) but there is a speed modeling forum (http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=122) as well. Don't kill me I'm just the messenger.
Of course, the sheer number of topics available in the DSF are too tempting so I can understand you guys bringing your talent here.

I know But I like the challange of the D/S/F
Anyways They can be done on any medium so some times I just use max if its open on my pc instead as i might have an Idea that suits the title, thats why i some times use 3d but im sure i will use 2d 95% of the time. oh and thanks for your comments on my gray alien glad you liked him. :)
I know you know. And I wasn't trying to discourage you. I look forward to seeing more stuff from you.

Hello everybody! Nice topic and very nice entries :o
Here's mine... 70 mins (I totally messed up the filter for the body "scales" and I had to redo it, costed me the 10 extra minutes) meaning I didn't have time to really finish it and I'm not so happy with it, but oh well...

Ironically enough, I was messing with my Wacom pressure settings and trying out different brushes in Photoshop to get a better pencil feel to my sketches. Ever do that? I mean, ever create something totally different from what you set out to create?
This is a contrast of light and shadow colored blue (well purple...or more of a blurple). I don't necessarily gravitate toward abstracts but maybe I was inspired by Jan-Mark.:)

Here is my "blue" image:

The first thing that popped into my Command and Conquer loving mind was Command and Conquer. So I decided to draw a dead (and obviously stupid) GDI-Soilder in a blue Tiberian-Field. (Tiberian is deadly for infantry) But i'm too slow again. I wasn't able to finish anything.
PS7 - Wacom Graphire - 60min.
Great works everybody!
I really love color themes. So much and so cool images everytime. :)

Greetings y'all. As part of an effort to improve my drawing skills I am going to post in these Daily Sketch thread as often as possible.
This'll be my first - it turned out wierder than I expected, but I guess that's the fun of going on without a plan.

Hi there!
One of my first times (3th or something) and that has been way too long ago!
I think i run over the time, but thats because it has been so long a go i painted.
I hope it's good enough.
The idea was to create a blue mood without using blue as the main color.
Hope you feel it.
If you are wondering where the mountains are: It's Holland, it's flat over here!
Damn.. i almost forgot, but DAMN some realy good ones in here! for example: Brittany , Ramitxon , bao , lucavi , telemaco !
PS CS - Tablet thats way too small :D - time: dunno something like 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hour.

Gosh... My sketch sux very hard... Mostly after seeing all the others that people already posted =x
But Anyway.. It took me 72 min :/ The reason why the 12 minutes late is becouse it's the first sketch I've made in the PC (I've ready a lot of tutorials but I've never tried doing anything by myself before) =X And I'm completely amateur when talking about colouring =x
I've used PS CS2 with Mouse =)

Muthauzum: Nice try. Just keep on sketching at the Daily sketch forum. You will learn lots of it. And try to look how other people work.
And this curtainly counts for me as well, thats why i am here too.
I still have a lot to learn.
Just help each other and we will do fine at last :)

Hello folks! I saw the latest entries (gorgeous and very interesting) (I <3 the windmill zng-Y, I just like when the weather is totally crap and grey and depressing, too :) ), and I thought mine was just not good. Then I remember a picture that popped into my mind when travelling back from england by plane... I was looking at the fields down below, and I saw one that just looked like an injured whale. A whale with a huge scar across its upper lip. That field's shape stuck to my mind, and I swore I'd drew it one day...
And the time has come... I thought it'd be blue enough to fit this theme. So here's my second entry
60min, Photoshop+tablet.
http://www.triskell-productions.com/CGtalk/Blue2.jpg
The field just looked like that, just less rounded... Amazing where inspiration can be found, really :)

Thank's May-Lea! I realy like the lightning effect in your painting. And i also like the fact that you saw a wale like this and you swore that you would paint it some day. Keep it going!
