Title: Xyaene: Character Portrait
Name: Ailsa MacPherson
Country: Netherlands
Software: Photoshop
Butterflies and make up very inspired by Linda Bergkvist, a great idol of mine. Maybe a little too inspired but I guess it's also sort of a tribute :). I made a walkthrough over at http://www.ailsamacpherson.com/xytut.php for anyone interested in my process.

Funnily enough, I can see a bit of YOU in there Ailsa! Maybe it's the sardonic inquisitive stare. :D
Stunning. It oozes character.
The eyes are gorgeous. I feel like the hair could have a bit more done to it to match the quality of the face though. The floaty head thing doesn't quite work for me either. I sort of feel like this is 1 step away from finished! Sorry, don't mean to offend.

Really beautiful work! Her face (and her eyes in particular) are lovely. The floaty head was a big surprise for me, but I don't see it as something disturbing. I really love your painting.
Great work.
Hey Wolfie. This is indeed a beautiful character. You have rendered the skin so wonderfully. I am sure Linda (my personal idol as well) will be honored and quite proud that you have learned well from her. I am sending you a starter package and I expect you to start rendering skin tones like that in oils as well :D
Only thing I had written before which I forgot to post this morning was that I'd have loved to see you separate the lower portion of the portrait a bit from the background.
This is also a beautiful background story. Will there be a full illustration of this tbg story then in the near future.?

Martin: Hehe, that makes four people who have said that! So odd, I really thought she looked nothing like me :/! Maybe it is the face shape...or the stare, like you said :p!
I'm really glad you think it has a lot of character too it :) was worrying it was getting to be a bland, blank character portrait. And of course I'm not offended by your crits, silly thing! Peter didn't like the floaty head either - I think in the next portrait I do I willl make the torso too.
Tyr: Thanks a lot Tyr :D I'm glad you like it. And yes, I know what you said about it in the IRC...I'm having great fun replaying that comment in my head about various different...boars...*runs away*!
Blessing: Thank you very much :). Good to know you didn't mind the head, it seemed to bother a few people I asked!
Ego: Ah *squuueeze* you are wonderful Ego, thank you very much for my starter set. I really must get that book over from England to you now *ahem*! I'm glad you like the background story...it's just a bunch of stuff I started making up in my head a year or two ago, I will do a portrait of Na'ii next...and then yeah I think a full painting showing how they both come to their sticky end :D.
Is there any way in particular you'd recommend for me to seperate the background? I'm not quite sure how to go about that *ponders*. Thanks for your wonderful comments on this one by the way, you know your support means the world to me ^^!
Calisto: Thank you very much :)!
Imirie: Thanks, I'm happy you think she is elegant ^^

This is really pretty.
I like the entire picture as a whole, especially the amount of detail in the flowers. Very nice. : )
