I've been working on updating my demo reel and would like to get some feedback on it before I get completely finished with it.

One of the things I am trying to do differently with this demo is to group the videos into three section, one section on compositing, one section on modeling and animation, and the last section on motion design. I'm hoping that once I'm done I'll be able to reorder the sections or take sections out depending on who I'm sending the reel to. One problem I've found with this is, that a lot of the videos could be used in more then one section.

Some things that I would be interested in hearing about are:
What do you think about the demo overall.
Shots that you guys think should be shortened or removed.
Shots that should be longer.
What do you think about having the video grouped in sections.

You can see a 21.5MB QuickTime version of the reel here:

If you're interested you can also see my old demo here:

All the work on my demo was created by me with the following exceptions:
The Delta microphone was supplied by the client, but I ended up having to remodel some of it. The Simmons BackCare X-Ray Guy and Skeleton started out as poser models that I modified in Maya.

Thanks for your feedback.

Great comp stuff. I'm not sure if there is enough animation on there though for it's own section. I would say it isn't your strength. Since most animation/modeling jobs are one or the other, and not both, I'm not sure where I'd go with that. I don't know if I'd keep that part with the smoking man, it doesn't really add anything to it. If you really like modeling, I'd throw some wireframes up there, and add the old man from your web site. By the way, where is that music from?

Thanks for the comments.

The places that I've worked at in the past have had only a couple of animators or I've been the only animator, so on most projects that I've worked on I did everything from start to finish. But I hoping to get a job at a larger company working on larger and cooler projects. So I figure that means I need to specialize a bit more, but I'm having a hard time deciding what I like doing the most.

The music is by Craig Armstrong for the movie Plunkett and Macleane. It was also used on the trailers for the Patriot and Romeo Must Die.
