View Full Version : i choose AMD...But.....?

I finaly choose the AMD athlon 64 X2 3800+ to be my new upgrade...but i want to know if i have to run win xp 64 bit and if there is any problem in others programs (photoshop, max...etc.)

you can use WinXP 32 bit. The processors are fairly stable, though only if you install the windows driver for them (available from the AMD download site). There is a small bug in the hardware synchronising the two cores - however the driver fixes all of those problems....

But if i use the 64 bit version that will solve all the problems and then can i run my old 32 bit programs ?

So far i encountered no problems with 32 bit applications on XP 64. I'm using mostly CINEMA 4D 32 and 64 bit as well as Photshop and several other graphics and office applications.
