Is there a simle way to transform (rotate) rotation axis in Maya? Moving pivot point is as simple as in 3ds max but I can't find any tool that would allow me to rotate it in similar way to max's "affect pivot only"; I found that I can rotate axis in attribute editor but it also rotates entire object so I have to rotate it back to it's previous position; sounds complicated? it is!!! I've spent quite a few hours trying to find a solution in help file but with no succes; please help

TIA

I don't really know if I have understand your question but maybe i have:

Select the object. Then klick F8 to switch into component mode. Press the ? icon to make the pivot-orientation-handle visible. Click on the handles which should now be visible. Now you have the the possibility to rotate the handles by going into the rotate mode (klick e).

That's it!

in the display menu > component display > use "show local rotations axis" than you can easily pick it with "?" in the component mode
