Elliotjnewman 01-27-2003, 04:23 PM hey guys. Let me know what you think of this new model inspired partly by gollum - and the need to get a job!!!
I am tweaking at the moment so please let me have any comments and suggestions.

Does anyone know where I can get an unwrap plug-in for lightwave - I've seen shots of it where it flattens out a head in the UV window, does anyone know of it?
cheers.

Any comments and help on this would be greatly appreciated...
This is a modelling excercise I will be adding to my demo reel, I may texture it but havent as of yet decided.
Comments very welcome... an update...

The face seems a bit flat... doesn't feel like there is a rounded skull inside the model. The skin/fat coming from the bridge of the nose into the cheeks needs to be more pronounced. You have a round ridge surrounding the eye, especially at the temples. This seems a bit pronounced, almost like there was a huge muscle under there (but for what purpose?) Hold off on texturing until you've had a chance to really tweak the model into its final shape.
Hope this helps,

MDuffy, thanks for the comments and I have tried to fix the things you said.
I have started to add the textures, here is how they are looking so far...
More comments are welcome please.

There is actually a bump map and a specular map and also a displacement map. I have just re-rendered with a more influencial displacement map and it looks much better. What good will a diffuse map do? I have never painted a diffuse texture before...
Update soon.

I think you cant see the bump map because of my lighting setup, ill re-post tommorow with some harsher lights, this should then show up more of a bump...
