Hi guys,

I currently own a 19" Iiyama monitor (over 5 years old now,) and it's been great for me. The colour fidelity is really good, which is all that matters to me because I mostly paint in Photoshop. However, I've recently noticed that the image quality is getting worse. The colours tend to change and the display warps when it gets fairly hot. Obviously this is really annoying so I am in the market for a new monitor. I have searched for reviews but find that most only cater for games players and movie watchers! I'd love to read some reviews that take into consideration the needs of artists etc. Can anyone recommend a decent website? Or if anyone has a personal recommendation or general advice I'd be happy to listen.

Oh, before I forget, one thing that confuses me a bit is whether or not widescreen monitors are suitable for artists - any feedback regarding this would be cool!

Cheers :)

i use 2 dell tft, one 24inch the other 20inch, both widescreen.

Colours on both monitors are very good (the 24 is slightly better than the 20). Everything I do is for print and so far everything Iv worked on screen turnes out to be 95% accurate in print - which is pretty good when you take different paper stocks and cmyk in to account.

They are both very very sharp, much more sharper than any CRT iv ever used. The only nagative I can think of is colour banding, For example, looking at the cgtalk web site red to black gradiant (to the left and right of the site) produces banding, not a great deal, and not enough to be a problem, but it is there.

oh...and working on a 24 inch widescreen on photoshop is fab!
