Well, after loitering around here for ages, commenting on peoples character models, i thought it was about time i put one of mine up. He's a pilot for a big robot, I'm not going for ultra realism, its all slightly tongue in cheek.

any crits? The face will be getting replaced with a more over the top fierce looking guy soon.

The model has been built with poly smoothing in mind, this is my base level.

I'm thinking of making a bowie knife strapped to one boot and a holster with a revolver in it strapped to his leg cowboy style.

Here's an update, I've updated the head - here he is with a bit of a grimace. The head is now totally rigged for facial animation, with around 12 expressions, full phonemes and various special attributes, for random head movement, blinks etc.

Crits please.....

I'm gonna give this guy a big fat cigar to smoke too!

I've got a few tweaks to do to the uv's by the bottom of his neck by the way!

He's actually going to be piloting a mech I made. He's around 12 - 14 hours work thus far.

I want to see ur smoothed mesh! :O Thats nice, thing is there are some very sharp edges that I think would be smoothed but I if not I want to see a bevel.

OK, not updated this in a while cos i've been MEGA busy at work, but heres a few new ones, I need to do more work on the shaders, plus a few modelling tweaks here and there, but I've basically been spending my time coming up with a versatile yet manageable rig for him.

OK, here's a preliminary test of the head of this guy, to check the weighting on the skeleton in the head. The audio is not final stuff, it's just a spare piece i had lying around...PilotTest - this is DivX (http://www.clanjadefalcon.org/cgtalkpics/pilottest.avi)

Apuente thanks for that - what do you want to know?

Bitmap, what is it you don't like about his face - the tattoos?

Not sure about the face tatoos either (only because the renders seem a bit dark and the detail is getting lost), but very nice animation test...and model.
