I'm thinking about getting Maya. One of the factors in that decision is the range of available toon and "art" type shaders. Can anyone point me to a book or other resource that could inform me on this point?

Thanks

You can create your worn Toon shaders in Maya 4.5 using the new Ramp Shader.
Fairly easy too...

Thanks for all the references. Very useful. Expressive Effects is Kind-of- a-tease though. Truly outstanding effects, and the kind of thing I am looking for. But future-ware for Maya. And if I have to ask the price it usually means I can't afford it. However I am moving closer to deciding on Maya--instead of LW.

Thanks again--great list!

Opps! My bad. (But their FAQ is out of date on that--which is as far as I got.) In any case, many thanks for setting me straight on that. That definitely goes on my must have list.
