View Full Version : Environment: Horrendous clouds, moon and birds
3dfArtist 01-27-2003, 09:20 AM Hi folks,
This imagery was created for a film called Bakra. The director wanted to depict the mood of the film (Psycho-thriller) with the help of such visuals.
There are 3 shots, but only one I am posting here.

The castle is the live shot from Rajasthan-India and the rest of the elements like the Cloud and birds are animated in 3ds max. Moon is composited in cumbustion.
Your comments are most welcome.

as for the picture: the overall composition and color is good.. color and atmosphere matches quite well. the only problem i have, is that the castle in the picture is QUITE sharp, while all the other elements seem to be a bit blurry..

Hey stimpy,
Thanx for your prompt reply. Have noted down all your replies.
Can u tell me why I cant post a pic of more than 30kb, when I see most people posting pics more than 100kb. Its a puzzle to me.

30k is the limit if you upload them to the cgtalk server. if you host (and link) them on your own site, they can be as big as you want them to be.

very nice image, but unfortunately you can see, that the clouds are cg
the birds are too far away to see anything negative, they look fine :D
and for the problem with the picture, theres a small hint which could help you, I got it from Neox :D
if you post an URL to geocities-hosted webspace, add a "?" at the end (f.e. http://www.geocities.com/chonu3d/3D/CloudMoonBirds.jpg? ). But I think, you'll have to do this in your adress-bar, a link with "?" at the end won't work.
now the link will work without having a problem with geocities small hot-linking barrier :)
Bakra? Bakra as in 'goat'? Strikes me as being an odd name for a psycho-thriller :)
Anyway, the picture is nice; the only problem I can see is that the transition from the top of the house to the clouds doesn't look very convincing (as if the front of the cloud is much higher than the back). That might be deliberate, though.

Off cource Nath,
Yes u have guessed it right. The perspective requires the clouds to look like that. Remember, the earth is round and the lense of a camera distort the image to be seen like what you have noticed. I think that is pretty fine there.
And the name of the film 'Bakra' depicts term 'Victim' (not goat) as per the director of film. Like 'chick' is literally baby chicken, but naughty kid like u may use it for Sexy babe(he he, kiding). Infact, when I got the project I had similar views like urs (yes! I am naughty too:-)
Also, thanx for the compliment.

I simply uploaded your picture on my webspace, I have enough free space and no traffic limit, so i decided to help you ;)
the rest is done with tags around the url, but geocities is a bad provider, it sometimes doesn't allow this way of linking.
the cgtalk-server is bad provider too, always too busy when I try to post :D
