Hey guys!
This is a little guy I modelled a few days ago. It was inspired by a sketch our concept artist Hennie Blaauw scribbled. I'll post the sketch soon. Modellig took about a day, rigging took another day, and I'm working on a bit of an animation test at every opportunity. I know he's nothing special, just something to practice cartoony animation on while we're working on photoreal stuff for clients.

At the moment he is known as 'Cosmic Boy'. Please let me know if the name already belongs to a cartoon or something, or if you have a better name.

He's not really textured yet, by the way.
Crits and comments welcome.

And another one. Sorry for the bad quality, it's the .jpeg compression.

Its looking like a good start. The character seams to be well built and rigged from the poses you have posted, I think there is seperation of the sole of his boot int he second picture though. Although I feel that it is also a little simplistic and the lighting that you have applied doesn't bring out its best qualities.

I think this character would work in the right environment with some good character animation. It looks cartoon like (I assume that is the effect you were trying to achieve).

Good luck with your project.

Thanks, Frank.

Yeah, I know about the sole, it's been fixed in the meantime.

The character is very simplistic and cartoony, I know, but when you've had as much photo-realism as you can stand it's a nice diversion. Besides, it's in the same style as the original sketch: kinda retro cartoony.

It's just a personal project...some fun to distract me from work.:D

The lighting is crap, yes. It was just a temp setup. I'll light him properly for the animation.

Thanks for replying.

And here's Hennie Blaauw's original scribble.
