fabman 01-27-2003, 08:01 AM How do you undock the attribute window from the right side of the screen, ( i don't know how I put it there).
And please please please... don't say... look in you manual, 'cos its the PLE version and I already checked the html manuals for undocking.

you mean unlock ? right mouse buton click on an attribut, and choose unlock...

No..no.. I mean undock ... it's when you have a windows docked to the windows UI instead floating away in whenever you want to put it on the screen.

windows/settings&preferences/preferences
in the interface categorie, check "in separate window" for the "open attribute editor" option.
This should work :)

I looked in the Maya documents for like 20 minutes trying to find this. I found the solution here on CGTalk in 2 minutes. My new machine at work had all default prefs, and I couldn't remeber for the life of me how to get things the way I wanted.

I opened the docs, searched for
Attribute Editor
Found many results, first explained what the editor does very basically, second explained how to use multiple attribute editors and how to undock it into a floating window instead of a panel.
