Title: Amber Portrait - A close friend
Name: Jarrod Aaron McDevitt
Country: USA
Software: Photoshop

This is a painting I did of a close friend of mine for her birthday. I wanted to go a little darker and more red like some of the painters did back in the renaissance period but my own style. Hopefully the abstract background doesn't take too much focus away from the portrait.

I know that I went a little too much on the texture of the face and it isn't REALLY clean but hey it is for a friend and not as much for me. Comment and critiques are definately appreciative. Thanks!!

the bg is a bit distracting yeah maybe slightly desaturate that and lower the contrast just a bit would do the trick.

I think if you would have gone a bit further it would have been even more realistic. I remember a living legend (Mss Bergkvist) saying "skin without texture = big nono ;)

the hair is awesome, looks very real

Great portrait JMcDevitt!
