View Full Version : Passenger coach
Latter 01-27-2003, 12:08 AM Im working on this Passenger Coach (is that the english word for it?) which is supposed to be a part of a trainstation scene.
Im haven't finished modeling it yet. The wheels and much of the bottom part of it is still missing and ofcourse the textures.
The passenger coach is being pulled by this train:

Im not sure if the Passenger coach fits with the style of the Train. It is supposed to be from the early 1900s.

I cant believe noone has replied. I love it, the modelling looks really clean and I think its going to look great in the end, the test image really gives it the right feel.
Good Job :buttrock:

Thanks for your replies! :)
Ive modeled the bottom part of the coach and the small details which were missing in the first render.
I think I think Im pretty much done with the modeling and unless somehing looks wrong Ill continue with the texturing part.
What do you think? Are there anything missing or does anything look wrong?

It looks great! I love that paneling on the side.
Could we maybe get a wireframe, or possibly some insight into the creation thereof? I wouldn't know how to approach such a modeling task. What parts are separate? What did you start with?

err are you sure your "hitches" (or whatever they are called) are right?

nervous_twitch, Thanks :)
It was pretty easy modelling the coach. I started by making the roof and continued downwards and ended up making the wheels.
I think you will be able to see which parts were modelled seperately by looking at the wireframe.

BiTMAP, He he no. Im dissatisfied with the lamps and the thingy which connects the coach to the train...is that called a "hitch"?
I couldnt find good reference picture of it since I don't even know what it is called in english.
Does anyone know what it is called and how it is supposed to look like?

Wow, That looks awsome!
Details to the max!
A small comment: Is that red body metal or wood? I think it's a little to shiny for wood and looks like metal, but the upper part looks like wood, so I am a little confused..

Thanks for your comments.
Integer, the body is supposed to be made of painted wood. The coach on my reference pictures is also very reflective, but if it looks like it is made of metal ill try and change it. :)
