View Full Version : Sexy Dance
Rofideo 08-30-2006, 12:48 PM Hello pals
Yesterday I finish this animation from a friend.
Its my first experiencie with maya cloth
(Its hard, slow and painfull)
Then if someone can give ous a small tuto or tell about his/her experiencies I be very thanksfull
Originaly the model are full modeled, but I want to experiment with cloth (BIG mistake)
In the begining she has a lycra short - hot, but virtualy imposible to animate (vertice popout, slowest time to simulation and some skin are exposed)
Then tired, hungry, dirty and hopeless I make a skirt
There is a shot

Disturbing. I am really turned off by this "furry" stuff.
Nice cloth though.

Oh well She suposed to ve a furry character
-- Without fur -- 8O
The animation is lame, I know, i know
Originaly is a test from chameras, lipsync and cloth, Then it was funny (err at least from me) and put it to render.
Maybe it woud be put in work in progres
Then if some one has a tips and tricks and want to give some Wellcome!
See ya, Thanks a lot for the feedback
Ah! some one has a good tuto about curves editing. A guy tell me this can help in the lipsync.
Pls C&C

there are obvious bends when she bends her arms, doesn't look natural. her calf muscles look perma-flexed, as if she's bending her knee constantly, even when she isn't. Cloth animation is good though. The furry thing, yeah, not a big fan though, and the song, ehh. Also, some of it seemed mechanic, not natural. Good start though.

Ok ok, just because theres certain things that are strange about the peice doesn't warrant it to be completely ignored for a critique. You said this was mostly for a cloth and lip sync test? Well, if youre going to lip sync, acting goes along with that. Lip syncs arent just lips moving, its acting as well. The lips popped too much, you need to smooth them out. Check out a book called Stop Staring, it helps with lip syncs, it still needs work. For all your animation, theres too much popping. That is a #1 distractor in animation, if something pops you need to fix it. The character only seems to move up and down on the y axis, dont be afraid to move her around. That will help a little with the robotic look. And cloth, well yeah I guess it looks fine.
I would also recommend you shorten it. If a peice is too long, by the time you refine it, you begin hating everything about the peice. And given the character, if a promiscuous female.... fox.... thingy is what you want then... Well more power to you, but if eventually you want to get a job(or maybe even serious critiques) you might want to use something else. And if you're eventually looking for a job then i highly recommend you use something else.

Althought i'm not quite into cat-women stuff, and i share most of the opinions of the other posters here, i found the idea quite amusing, And i've watched the video several times just to make sure before i gave u any kind of feedback.
-About the cameras, at 00:45 - it was totally unexpected, it made me laugh, since it kinda looked on of those Teledisc videos out there. good job:thumbsup:
00:52 - Another good moment
I believe this could be really improved with some editing. Anyway, i am not a maya user, but curves work in every software the same way, so it shouldnt really be that much difficult finding tutorials on curves, there are plenty about those in animating balls for begginers.
Well good luck for the rest.:)

Besides the mouth popping that needs to be fixed, there's also the fact that she's completely symmetrical in every pose. Get rid of that twinning!

The thing I notice first is the absence of overlap on most of the body animation, which gives it a somewhat mechanical appearance. This is a long piece, it would take quite a while to finesse all of it.
As a cloth test it seems to work well, the cloth is moving like cloth.

Hello everybody
Well am surprised for the reply (rarely see more from two replyes)
First of all TANKS TO TAKE THE TIME FOR YOUR COMENTS
Svayne: Yeah I neet to work more with the rigging and painting, maybe I want to do it soo fast and when I try to fix it was too late. (Mmm like "eyaculacion precos" -I dont know how to translate it)
Rogun; This is not a test from get a job (And honestly it so weird) Maybe I just a litle scaried about moving the model for the hard critics, but even I tryed hard every time and tanks to yours coments. Yup, lip sync is much more than just move the mouth (I know now) Thanks!
FabioMSilva: Thans a lot man (I need at least some palm in the back) I promise I work harder next one
orko60: Ok, are only some loops here, thansk
robcat2075: When I see it with the eyes of the comunity I would se the poor movements, nex maybe It be fluid. Well at least some point is rigth
See you later
AND THANKS AGAIN.
