I appologise if this is a stupid question but I'm a bit stuck & can't find an answer in the docs or by searching on here.....

How do I get eyeballs to target a null? I have two eyeballs in their sockets & parented to a head, I would like to have them target a null so that they follow it, saving me from animating them seperately....the problem is that I can't find a way to do it. The only way that I can think of is to parent them to muscle bones which seem to be the only items that can target something else.....seems a bit stupid to me, I must be missing something obvious.:hmm:

you can try the Target expression in the command tab ;)

woah!.....I just made my first ever expression:bounce:

seems odd that it's not just a selectable thing in setup somewhere...or...maybe in with the IK?.....dunno, just another thing that I'm used to in Lightwave.

cheers Stooch.

Ha ha ha! I remember when I did my first messiah expression I was rather amazed. In LW it seemed so unintuative. You'll find that you will soon be creating all sorts of complex expressions and shuddering at the thought of creating them in LW - that's what I found anyway. The list of functions is so helpful. One of the great parts of messiah!

Welcome to messiah (I assume you're fairly new to it?)

Yep ... I use the Target expression for the camera as well. Although LW has Target Item within the Camera's Motion Options, messiah's Target expression can be used just about anywhere, not just for rigs. :)

I wish, haha.....I've had it for well over a year but haven't really had a chance to use it. I bought it initially because of the render engine & secondly to make rigging easier. I found some of the earlier versions a bit unstable & I work in arch.vis. so I don't get to do character work on a regular basis....but, thanks to most of our clients taking holidays at the same time, we've had some down-time & I've finally started using the rigging tools.
