These are the rules:
You have 45 MN to do your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them).
Good luck

what is DSG?
DSG = Daily Sketch Group. Thats what the participants called themselves when the forum first stated up. Then one fateful day all hell broke loose; or maybe it happened slowly over time. But now we're the DSF group or something.

Fixed the title of the thread.

Dang it, Roberto. Now my previous thread is no longer relevant. Fortunately, this post is not only relevant but useful. For example, this post can be singly selected by clicking the number six (#6) at the top right, then printed and used to start a camp fire.

Got six hundred and twenty-two done and I can almost taste the s'mores. No, I'm lying s'mores are an American (and, my drinking buddy Wikipedia mentions, Canadian) thing and my allusion to this popular campfire treat is the result of years of American media bombardment. Also, Wikipedia confirms that they sounded yummier the way I imagined them, instead of how they sound now that I know how they were made. Unfortunately nobody was perspicacious enough to include a 'useless' button next to that nifty green button at the bottom of this post, so I can get away with writing a completely inane post unchecked.
No, I lie. I'll pull off a sketch tonight - I swear - then edit this one.
I much prefer the older DSG terminology. New people should just learn, like me.

It'd almost be funny/ironic is no one did a sketch for this topic. Almost, but not quite...

I didn't really have a direction I was aiming for this, so it ended up pretty abstract, but turned out ok. That's supposed to be a pen in the middle, btw, an old fashioned ink one.

Robertt - funny stuff.
Those are all funny. I can't draw anything for this, because well...I can't imagine life without DSG!!! But I would probably be very sad.

Here's my humble contribution. I went over the time limit because I was experimenting with different layer modes. Does anyone know how to draw a straight line in Photoshop or Painter by any chance?
1 hour / Photoshop Elements / Wacom

Edit: It was supposed to be a window in the top left hand corner. Looking at it now it looks more like a computer screen.

Photoshop Straight lines Click, hold shift, click to the end of the line.
Heozart: if you want draw straight line, use forc.. errm, use Shift key ;)
You can hold it all time when you draw- but it produce only horizontal and vertical lines, or tap with pen press&hold shift, and tap in another place... voila! straight line ;)
sorry for my bad english.
Cheers!

Zyrinx and ANS, thank you for the reply. Didn't know it was so easy. I feel stupid for looking all over the tool bar for a straight line button. Ok, now does anyone know how to use the smilies on the forums? It doesn't let me pick one or scroll down when I click on it. Thanks in advance.

A day without leaves me juggling my own ideas or exorcising my own demons..
Done in Painter as usual with my new toy the tinting brush. ~10 minutes.
