View Full Version : SimCloth problems
three 01-26-2003, 09:50 PM I really need some help with Sim Cloth. I've been trying to create a battle-skirt for my character, and I thought that I could be using Sim Cloth to get it to fit nice and stuff, but when I start the calculation it crawls down and up, becomes a small crotch covering patch of fabric.
I wonder, are there any good ways to create a skirt? Is it at all possible with Sim Cloth? or should I only use Sim Cloth as a "Softbody" for wind warps and stuff?
Help appreciated

Need more information than that.
Make sure you have reset your pivots and your transforms on the objects involved in the simluation before you start the calculation.
Make sure your Bond Scales aren't set to anything other than 1.
Post up a screen grab of your Simcloth settings.

Thanks Iain.
I've set my Bond scales after the recommended settings in the t-shirt tutorial that followed with Sim Cloth.
You actually helped me out all that I needed with that information. So, thanks to you :)

If I remember correctly, the Bond Scale settings in that tutorial are there to show you how to initially tighten the T-shirt around the character, but it's only done temporarily. That'll explain your troubles then :)

My simcloth is like silk, what can I change to get it more like real cloth.

Dynamics roll out - Bounce and slip.
Deflection roll out - React to deflect fold curve and stuff. play around with the settings.

Try increasing the Bond Scale to 1.2-1.5 ish.
