View Full Version : Short Film - The Builders
actionbrad3d 08-30-2006, 01:13 AM Hi there!:)
This is a short film I made last year as my final project in animation school. I made it on my own over a period of six months.
Looking at it now, there are probably a few things i would work on a bit more if i had the time.
All the same i would be interested to know what people think of it!

A very good concept, which actually made me laugh out loud at the end...It was nice to see something different with a bit of originality about it.
I think the animation of the characters could have been smoother in places, but I realise that there were a lot of characters to animate, and it doesn't detract from the overall film. So thumbs up; really well done!

I really liked this. It is true that the animation isn't amazing (not than I can do better) but it gets the job done and it is a good job. I laughed out laud at the end.
I aggree that it is nice to see something original. This is exactly the kind of short that animation is good for.

Nice concept. Yeah, animation could really use some attention, maybe just at the beginning where there are only a few characters to look at.
But the tale is told through sound, and to venture a crit in that department... some of the mouths say their word too clearly for having just fallen ten stories. It would be a lot funnier, and true to the concept, if they wheezed and coughed their word out, obviously hurt after their struggle.

Thanks heaps for your comments guys. I really appreciate your honest feedback .
I can definitely see what you mean. The animation was all a bit rushed toward the end there and this was my first really big animation project so it ended up being a bit rough. I want to have a look at polishing it up a bit, so over the next few weeks will ahev a look at those parts that i think need the most work.
as henningK said it needs a bit of attention particularly at the biginning. If there is anything else that particularly stands out , let me know.
cheers!

Agree with the general comments so far-Original and entertaing concept with room for a little clean up on the animation, but you mentioned you already know this it seems you've got a handle on what you're doing. A very promising first film. Keep up the good work
