Okay, been playing around today and have finally thought of a character/species... I have sketches, but they're going to have to wait until I have access to a scanner.

Description is a little hazy at the moment - but essentially (and craply):

He is Lun-tu - the only one of his kind. His existance on Middle Earth has been one of lonely travel, trying to track down others like himself to no avail. So after 800 years, he finally returns to his home - to die. (which is nice...)

Anyway - This is pretty far from my sketches so far - largely due to lazyness on my part (He's meant to be practically made of wrinkles) but I'll have to wait till I've gotten further with him to see if I'm going to do it in geometry or textures.

Let me be the first to welcome you AJ23.........Nice start. That's a sad story for him, but not all turns out perfect. By the way does AJ23 stand for Air Jordan 23 ...23 being his number? :)

I dont know if you meant it to be funny, but I read the last persons comment before I read your description about your character and LMAO! I thought it was going to be all sentimental or something of the sort, and then I read "he goes back home to DIE! hey, what the hell, why not! :P. What was funny is after reading that, I looked down at your character, youve already got that perfect lonelly no one loves me look.... By the looks of things, youve got a great start. Ill keep watch over this guy.. later.

Virtuoso : No - it's not Air Jordan! My initials are AJJ, and 23... well, if you have to ask then you'll probably never know! (He says mysteriously) Actually, it's just a number that seems to re-occur, everywhere!

Righty-ho, here's some (pretty minor) twiddling, I've just been trying to make him look a little older... I haven't gone overboard yet as I've not figured out how much of his age will be geometry and how much will be textured...). He's also sporting a trendy sweatband type bandana thing - which will probably go, just wanted to try something on his head.

hey nice work, the bald head is good, I'd stick with that, but maybe a hairy mole on the side of his face would be a good touch.

I really like this one AJ, very clean and solid modelling, very interesting design. Impressive. I'll be following your progress.

Any chance to see some sketches or concept drawings? wireframe maybe?

Holy cow - there are so many entries.... So much inspirartion - and intimidation!

And so many people have gotten so much done.... Well, enter the lazy f@cker :

Just a couple of arms and an inkling of his clothing... Sadly he looks too much like a Star Wars reject at the moment, but I hope that when he's fully dressed (and has his 'collection' on his back - he says mysteriously... :p ) he'll look less Lucas.

Nice update AJ_23!! I love the way those cloths are turning out, they look very warm. Have you given any thought to the enviroment he might inhabit? perhapes a cold and icey one could make for some interesting props and accessories....Keep it up, I wanna see more of this!!!
