Hello there,
I had an assignment to make a visual effect in a short clip.
Did anyone here ever watched "Zatoichi", played by Takeshi Kitano?
How do we make the blood spill effect? Is it using a plugin in a composite software like after effect or is it using particle illusion? I only had after effect installed on my computer.
If anyone knows how to make it, please help me.

Thank you very much...

ps: sorry for my bad english...

Do you mean blood splatter? Usually that is done in 3d.

maybe if you post a screen shot we could help more... it could be done a lot of ways but it depends on your definition of blood spill

I seen the blind samurai films and I know which effect you're talking about.
It is almost certainly a fluid effect, probably done in maya.
You may also want to note that the director asked the VFX people to make the blood luke unrealistic but NOT fake looking. He wanted to have sureal looking blood (hence the blood looks crap) to soften the 'hardcore' violence.

On another note...AWSOME films!

ok, i see, but can it be done with a software called particle illusion?
since that could produce "particle" look a like,, because if i have to use maya, it will be less efficient considering it`s render time.
