View Full Version : Honeysuckle - the sequel
Por@szek 08-29-2006, 04:41 PM Hi mates.
Long time out of post in here ;)
So at first .. hi there :P
As I write in subject, I start working on a sequel of a Mindrots work - Honeysuckle.
I;m hoping that I'll do it enough good that i don't need to change a name of a project :P
The technical description like a polycount, textures and bla bla bla I'll write in the end 'cos I don;t know at the moment how much it will consume.
Here are some shots, but remmember its very early wip.

yea man, those shots are inspirational, feel like I should do new project :D
*although I never finish my stuff*
looking great, i wanted to ask you a question concerning your texture maps. Generally when i make a building i tile the bricks at a lot so they comeout crisp, but then i can add details to lets say window borders and such because it will tile all over the map. Do you, for instance, use a 2048 or 1024 texture and paint all the added details on?

Sweet start :)
Look forward to this one.
If anything I'd say try making the bits where the roughcast has come off the walls a little more raggedy.

HA, same here! :)
But he will be proud of him....i guess...actually i dont kow ;)
Maybe the same name will be a problem....i guess..actually i dont know either...
Looking forward to seeing this progress. Looking cool so far. Minor crit is that the break of walls to the brick is too sharp. if it had more of a worn off plaster look it might look better.

and ...
*GLandolina - unfortunately I;m not a Mindrot, but i'll do my best to do this project enough good, I;m hoping ....
*Hellboy - thx
*G0st - hi man. I'm not using such big texture size. Mostly its 512 or less. Details as a dirt or else I'm adding as a separte object on alpha test moving it very close to main object.
*ArchangelTalon - long time dude ;) I'm glad u like it, raggedy u said ... I'll think of it in the end 'cos its almost cosmetic thing, and I'll left them to the end. Thx
*theabyss - hahaha, I think Garry will say something in proper time ;)
*RO - thx, I really dig u seeing your post here ;) Yep I agree, asap I'll fix it.
*requiem2d - thx
PS - the word "honeysuckle" is only a placeholder.
