View Full Version : The dawn of the vampire
08-29-2006, 09:02 AM
Hey guys! This is my first post in the wip forum.
Some info about the scene... the vampire will sit on the throne... looking a bit sad and angry(he is old and sick...) he will hold in one hand a scepter. I will detail the thorne as much as i can, in the back... there will be a courtain. I will work at the lighting.
The character... well... he is my dad :D.... I dreamt of him beeing a vampire when i was about 8 or 9 years. He will wear an armor or something.... and a cape. He is my 3rd character. I only worked at him for about 2-3 hours so i will tweek it and try to clean the wire as much as possible... Then i will unwrap and detail all the way in zbrush(i work in zbrush for a month or so... and i am handling myself quite well in it)
I hope u like the ideea...
and the wire:

This is the fully detail version in ZB:

You have some issues with the topology of the head. The edge flow needs to sit right if ur planning to make face expressions as u mentioned in the first post. Here is a rough idea of the edge flow i made by my sucky mouse its not perfect but fits the idea.

I fixed the neck bones... and futher detailed the head...
2 renders... one with skin(from the picassa tutorial)
with skin(from that tut)
and without skin(to show the actual sculpting)
For this detail... i used my dad as a refrence.... all the wrinkles will be detailed... i will inflate all the spaces between them so they act like normal wrinkles...

thx man! i`m glad u like it! I will detail the head once I finish the whole scene.
exported to max...
I need to make the red lines more dark... i like the mat as it is now :)
I think that 2day i`ll make tests for the lighting... then make him a good shirt... then detail the scene...
I need to make the nails too!

This is a test render... added volume light(i need to give it a higher sample range.) I played a bit with photoshop... playing with the levels... the curves(but i still didn`t add an oclusion pass for the shadows... yet). Then i duplicated the layer again, desaturated and gave it an opacity of 80% to give it a hint of a color... and this is it:
i still need to model the scepter and maybe detail even more...
p.s. the cloth has many wrinkels just u can`t see them on the dark... on a dark cloth...
