Daedalaus was modeled in Hexagon and rendered in Carrara 5 pro version , all textures made in Corel 12 so was the post work also ,actually alot of post went into this more than any project that i have done before. The lighting i am not entirely happy with but i am calling this done ,spent to much time on this one on to the next !

This looks real good and is certainly better than I could do but I'd like to share some thoughts.
In space there is no ambient light which here there is a lot. The angle of the ship should be putting most of the top in the dark. There should be strong lighting from the sun and fairly strong under lighting from the planet. The engines, given how dark the aft should be can provide a fair amount of high contrast blue light to the after section.
HOWEVER, in order to make the scene work for the human eye some ambient light in needed I think. It just shouldn't be the primary source.
I only mention this because you said you weren't happy with the lighting. In any case, I enjoy what I see here.
I like the compositing and ship design. Your image here is coming off a bit plastic on the asteroid and a tiny bit on the ship. I think it may be your textures and a bit of the lighting. Otherwise, again, ship design is nice! Keep up the good work! later

Great job! The camera angle seems kinda odd to me though. I couldn't really figure the scene out until I looked at it for a while. IMO you should maybe rotate the ship 90 degrees to the left. But the ship design is quite nice.
