View Full Version : just a... stupid question about sizing.

Hey all

Lets assume that i was dumb enough to rig up a character without having adjusted its proportions. Lets assume its a simple model with simple FK techniques used, nulls and segments, no IK....

now, lets assume that i wanted to size that model up while maintaining pivot points correctly...Possible? or Impossible?

lets assume that all help is appreciated.

:)

In Layout? Possible:thumbsup: you might run into problems witht the nulls though...not sure...haven't done it myself yet....sorry:shrug:

Sure. Make a Null. (Call it something like Null_Master or Null_CharacterName) Parent the character and every control to it. Scale that Null to the desired size.

or, if you want to permanently scale up the actual geometry, just put a point where each pivot is. keep the points in their own layer, or add them to a selection set, so you can get to them easy. then scale all layers up, and adjust the pivots to where those points' new positions.

it's a good idea to always have that master null that everything to do with a character is parented to, so you'd still probably have, but i prefer to have the actual geometry in proportion in the first place, even if one has to spend a short while on the above work.
