View Full Version : Mental Ray Toon Rendering

Hello,

I've been trying to figure out how to render "toon" shaded images with
Mental Ray and Maya. But every time I
apply one of the toon shaders (in the
mray tab of a phong shader) I get a black
object. Does anyone know what to do,
or had any success getting nice toon images.

Any help is appreciated!!!

I'm not sure, but I think this is an issue with the MR beta. I've read somewhere that it works in the final version. I fiddled around with it myself a few months back and couldn't get it to work...

All this is second and third hand info.


The custom MR shaders are very poorly implemented in this release of the Plug. they won't work with more than one light source, they have screwed up alphas, and inconsistencies in final gathering and global illum.

apparently in the next release of the plug it'll be tight.


untill then .... represent with patric jean's tomcat toonshader on high end.
