Messed around for 45 minutes or so...it's a phoenix rising out of flames.
Dagger-That's a nice looking bird. I like the transparent feeling of feathers on the wings.

Fools! The topic needs a Phoneix, not a Phoenix. :D

awesome sketches! :)
this is my first post here, i want to start sketching more often and this place makes me feel the urge to do so.
well, here's my little contribution to this theme. done in 50 minutes, using painter. i don't have much experience painting birds neither using painter, so this was a difficult for me and ended with a messy picture, but still i like it enough to post it here.
any comments on it would be very appreciated.

Good point, Jimi. I wonder what a phone-roman-numeral-9 looks like? I bet it's one of the designs the Romans rejected. As I remember, their third design—the sit and spin—left callers disoriented.
vaisak, great design and painting for your first entry here in the DSF! So far, great quality entries all around.

Nathaniel. Stop coming here. Showoff. Thany. You too.
(jokes aside, I like both your images a lot, but don't really have a favourite, since they have a similar feel to me)

I looooove your works :| will I ever be that good :| hope so *happy* hihi
So I sat down with Photoshop after a hard day and got a little carried away. Went way over the time limit on this one @ around 3.5 hrs. I totally lost track of time and forgot to save a copy at 60min. Oh well. I'm just trying to get better. Maybe I'll do another @ 60min if I have time........

This is a little sum'n sum'n I like to call The Flight of JimiPhoenix.
PS7/ Intuous3/ hours and hours (at 60 minutes I was probably at the hand, the blank letter, the two panel layout, and a stick figure...use your imagination)

The windowless buildings are a social statement on the conformity of...ah who am I fooling? I was lazy so you get no windows, doors, cars, or people!

Ah, good old Clark Kent Syndrome. I resent being depicted as a suicidal albino, though. Come the next Avatar War you shall see the true glory of JimiPhoenix...that's if your eyeballs don't melt! Needless to say, there are a variety of interesting ways to take down slugs. Oh heck, I'll probably just squish you.

Hee hee. I was wondering when you were going to see this. Just to clarify, you're not suicidal, you're just letting go of the girl by letting go of the letter. And the albino-ness-ism is a white suit to hide your identity. And your molten/fiery wings absorb into your body when you are in your citizen guise. Some thought went into this.
However, I have noted your avatar war inference and I suggest you be wary of a bicycle or a carwash.

*Gasp* Not the carwash, foe eternal to kitchen-ninjas everywhere!
But more importantly, how did you know I was hung up on a girl? My bad - I meant chick. No, wait. h0W D1D j00 noes 1 \/\/uz K4uGHT up on 4 C|-|1XXoR?
