To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to remove the menu bar at the top...though if you used a two-monitor set-up, you could put your canvas on the other screen.

Tab actually hides the palettes and toolbox; command/ctrl + m takes you to full screen mode. I'm on my laptop at the moment, I believe it will go to full screen whichever screen you're on.

hi, i didn't know that i was replied to by such a great artist, Chris-Palomino.

I went to your website and read about you in CG Society. I am new to painter, i have been working with photoshop for a while now and want to switch to painter, and since you have such expertise in the field of teaching painter could you give me some advice as to how to manage those trillions of brushes and brush types that painter has.

Also, could you pls give me some tips on painting.

thanks in advance.

Awwww, now you're gonna make me blush. However, there are some other great people here who can also help you.

Robert Chang, Lunatique, who is the moderator on this forum, is an outstanding artist and his work is superb. http://www.ethereality.info is his site.

The great John Derry, one of the creators of Painters, has been doing some great tutorials on aspects of Painter, here, in this forum. Look up his name in the the forum's search engine and look under all threads started by John Derry.

Jin Brown, is a well-known in the Painter community for her unfailing love of and assistance to those who want to learn Painter.

These forums are very lucky to have such devoted artists and teachers. There are also, salted throughout the CG Talk forums, many, many other wonderful artists who not only show their amazing work, but give of their time to help other artists.

I will be back sometime later today with some links and other things. In the meantime, do take the time to read through sections on the brushes in the manual, if you have not. Also, search under brushes in this forum as they have some threads on the matter. In particular, when you search under John Derry, there are a few topics he has covered in-depth on brushes.

Thank you for your kind words,
Cris

Just choose Window->Screen Mode Toggle.

You can't make the menu bar go away, though.

You're welcome, antonymuse...and you may just call me Cris, if you like.

Also, check Robert's thread where he's put together several relevant links:
