Can someone please guide me trough some features of the autoUV function in wings?
I can get some results, but Im not sure of the process ( how its working..) - to get the best results..
..or is it so that the feature dont function properly yet?

thanks!

The unfoldthing and the projection..( lack of documentation.)

ok you an make pieces stay together and deide whih pieces should be apart by segmenting with the auvchart (for faces)
you an draw edgeloops around the area you want to be a section like the front of the upper torso
you might be able to use both and tell it where it an cut the uv

like say you want the arm as one uv
selet the arm assign a auvchart to the faces
then draw on the edges where you want the split and breaks so it doesnt distort the geometry (I havent tested this yet)

projetion will use the cameras current angle (if it hasnt been changed) and unfold will do just that using the information you fed it

hope this helps if you need more help just ask

ok just tryed the face and edge thing just out of curiosity and even tho it makes sence and seams intuitive it doesnt work unless I am missing something

doh I missed something
I forgot to mark edges for cutting
so the above does work :)

honestly I dont know (oh my thats a first in a long time)
I dont think you an recall them
one thing you an do is assign materials to the faces this way you can use them to referene and maybe use as the segments to begin with
in body model you an swith to vertex color so your model wont have funky colors while making modeling changes

second bjorn's post might be what you search for ? (not sure).
also, it might not work with last wings version, as AutoUV is being worked on.
