Well, this pic has had a really long journey from the initial sketch to being painted out.. We're talking years here.. It was originally inspired by the song by the same name, by the band.. 'Smoke city', I think.
It portrays the lonely mermaid with her 'watchhounds', symbolic is pretty clear with the mermaid being 'submerged in emotion'.
I've really had to work on light and that underwater feeling on this.
