When you talk about texturing, you mean just the painting or the whole process, like unwrappingt etc?

anyhow, you should really give texturing a try and post it, easier to give tips when I know more about your skills.

Looking good so far Blastzone, I like the detailing you've done on the torso. I have a feeling the proportions are a little off; the head seems pretty big compared to the rest of the body and perhaps the legs are a bit long, but I'm no 40k expert :D

Good luck with the texturing; good unwrapping is the key to a model like this, but I don't know Maya well enough to give you tips. There's plenty of good tutorials available for painting textures. I've been learning from Leigh van der Byl's Texturing book (cheers Leigh  ), but I imagine it's too LW-centric for you. You could try here (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=392677&textlink) if you want some more ideas.

Thanks for your input on my own Terminator model... I have a feeling you'll be finishing long before me!

lol yeh but your model is like 50 times better than mine lol. the detail on yours is just immoral. im gonna post some texturing stuff in about an hour. oh and yeh i agree with you on the head, im very close to just re-doing it. as for the legs i have had ALL kindas of problems with the legs. you think they are too long? ill have a look.

Cheers matey :D... Hopefully I can maintain the same for the rest of the model, it is taking a while!

I found getting the proportions and stance of the legs right was a bit tricky; I ended up modelling very low detail placeholder geometry and fiddling with proportions to get everything looking right. Since I started the model again I've taken a few reference pics of the miniature I'm working from so I've got something to refer to. I know it's a different miniature, but they might help a bit if you compare them with yours. There is a bit of perspective in all the pics, so they're not perfect orthographic references, but they should give you some ideas about changes you could make. It's a bit hard to tell about the length from the angle of the pic you posted, but the legs aren't nearly as chunky as on mine.

ok here we go. a little progress report. not done any of the moddeling yet but heres some textures. rather badly done as promised im going to keep at it. some of them are better than the others. just ignore the gold it was an old placeholder i forgot to get rid of before the render.
