Title: Kensington Mini
Name: Matthew Nightingale
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Photoshop, XSI
This piece is of a classic mini parked in Kensington, London. I was trying to create the moment when the sun breaks through the cloud after a heavy shower.
The majority of the scene was made using traditional polygon modelling and the car bodywork was made using XSI sub-div surfaces. Photoshop was used to make the textures and the mi_car_paint shader was used for the car paint.
Any comments welcome. Thanks

That's a cool looking render man, nice texturing work as well (nice details, the dry spot underneath the car for example).
It's one of those renders that keeps my brain confused whether it's too obviously a render or perhaps it does look more like a photo.. realism is a tricky thing but you seem to have pulled it off in a funky way (I guess I mean to say that reallife photos can sometimes look like renders because of the unusual lighting). Love the carpaint and rims btw.

The render has a photoreal / artistic feel to it and I think you've captured that perfectly.
The sun breaking through the clouds is especially convincing. I liked the wet shader/texture for the road and the mini. I agree what Renzsu said about how real life photos sometimes looking like renders.
Nice render!

Great work all CG. I am impressed only after carful study I see the shadows under the car look too hard. But that is after study. Amazing work.
