I am a pretty new to modeling so I decided to start with something simple... After a bit of practice I started modeling a sword. This is a pic of what i have so far.

It looks a bit plain and I was hoping someone had some sugestions on adding a bit more life to it .

i would start by adding some more texture detail to the lighter part of the sword, it looks too clean. adding some well placed scratches and dirt in the grooves will add alot to the blade and handle as well.

looking good so far.

i suggest though to never present your stuff on a black background when you are looking for feedback on modelling. makes it hard to make out the actual shape of the object, since the background blends in with the shadows...
