Hey CBAnimator,

I really really like the animation and lip sync.. I just dont understand his mouth though. It seems to be stuck over the top of his face, not a part of it. I guess thats probably the style you're looking for?? The lip sync looks great.. Well done.

thanks for the kind words, i appreciate it a lot!

You're right, the mouth sits on the side of his head (he has anohter one on the other side too).
a lot of people have told me it gives it a wallace and gromit feel to it.. which i suppose is a good thing.

I'll probably be uploading the rig to my webiste soon.

anyway, thanks again!

LOL yes very Rex the Runt style mouth :D good job on the animation! my only crit is that the eyes dont move around.. i kept being drawn back to them and i was expecting him to maybe look down or around at certain points. thats my only crit though, everything else looks great!

It's a bit different to what I'm used to but now that you mention it, it does have a bit of a wallace and gromit feel.. I like it!! I'm looking forward to seeing the rig.. I would also love to see a rendered version.

Cheers

Good start man.

I noticed a couple of things:

-You are not pushing the character enough through the dialogue. there are highs and lows in the dialogue you are not exaggerating enough as a result the character seems to be doing the same thing over and over.

- Some of your poses are tweened (symmetrical) It would look better if you break the symmetry a little.

-The hand poses look a bit symmetrical too. the fingers all have the same spacing. You can clump some of them to make it look more natural. Also that pose where both of his hands are open wide to his sides (when he is saying "will ya?") is repeating a lot and looks annatural because it is pushed too far back.

-You can also move the character around a little. he seems to be stuck in one place when the dialogue suggest he should be very animated.

-The lip synch works for me in general , at places it is hitting the words a bit late. You can fine tune that easily. It can also benefit from some more snap to it , hit the poses a little faster in some places.

Hope this helps man.

thanks a lot, I really appreciate your feedback.
I'll definitly work on extending a lot of the poses that Ive started, and i agree that the timing of his body language is a fraction off in some areas.
I'll post the next version soon.

thanks again.
chris.
