View Full Version : CgTalk Daily Sketch 812:NO TIME LIMIT SKETCH: 'my car'

These are the rules:

You have 45 MN to do your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them).

I wanted to do something funny and different for me because I normally don't do comics or drawings, I just paint. About 20 minutes, pencil, ink and prismacolor.

Something is literally wrong with my little chevy cavalier every two months or so. And the people at the shop know me well because of it...:buttrock:At least I don't have car payments.

Note: I am a great driver! Really!

That's a double-O Beetle though - only secret agents get cars with a generic 'X' insignia on the front. Lucky bastards.

I'm skipping this one. Not having a car hits really hits home. What's sad is the kind of car I could be driving. It looks like this (http://i19.ebayimg.com/05/i/06/6c/7d/8e_1_b.JPG), but it's the 2004 model. Taste issues aside, methinks it's not to shabby for a first car. Now that I'm not right in London (where I actually preferred to use public transport) I'm beginning to understand why everyone was telling me to get my licence. Meh.

I've always loved the drawing style of car designers, so I decided to have some fun and give it a shot. This is about 15-20 minutes in Photoshop.

Nathaniel, that's pretty slick. I also love that style - it works surprisingly well when applied to characters, too.

HI I decided to try the daily sketch forum. I dont sketch in the computer (I prefer to do the sketches in a paper) so thats why I'm entering, to learn, since im just not good at digital painting .

Anyway here's my submission

I decided to make a roman car (I know, terrible XD )
It took 30 mins done in Photoshop CS
Well if you have any suggestion to help me get better I would really appreciate it.Don't be afraid of sounding harsh I just want to improve :)

It has been a long time sense I last did a quick sketch of a car. I had a lot of fun doing this one. It was done in photoshop on my Cintiq in about 32 minutes.
