kriscabrera 08-25-2006, 08:55 PM Hi my name is kris i am new to the forums, i was wondering if you guys can help me i am trying to get a look on a mirror like the mirrors they have in public bathrooms, i think there aluminum. its like a brushed reflective aluminum if you guys can help i would greatly appreciate it thanks.

You need to use an anisotropic shader.

Well you haven't said what software you're using, but most programs have an anisotropic shader. Google it if you don't know what anisotropy is, because I'm too tired to explain :)
Although I must say I've never seen a brushed aluminium mirror before...

Oh I just remembered that I covered anisotropy very briefly in an article that I wrote that I posted the link to here:

It's in the section on reflectivity. Hope this helps.

Photoshop, add noise, radial blur, radial blur, radial blur. Apply as bump. Shazam.
