Hey everyone I'm new to these challenges, and thought that it would be fun. Since Im coming in late in the game, I will try to complete 20 models in 30 days.

Day 1- Horse
Description- Clydesdale Horse modelled after images found on google.
Time- 8 Hours
Software- 3ds max 8, Zbrush

Thanks Paul and Amit for your words of encouragement.

This next model is a lobster. It was tricky understanding the structure of this creature. For anyone who plans on modelling the lobster, I strongly recommend getting some good references of underneath. Pay attention to the way the legs come out from the bottom.

Day 5- lobster
Description- American Lobster
Time- 9 hours
Software- 3dsmax 8, zbrush

ok I do have a critique about the lobster. Though the location of all the parts, and the general shape looks good... did you notice that lobsters are segemented??

their shells are basically all different pieces held together by the meat that is underneath...

like I said the general shape looks good, but I think that if you would have modeled the topology as being segmented it would have looked better, (or used this one as an underneath and just modeled the shells on top)

oh well to each his own... it still looks like a lobster which is what you were going for.... LOL

PS I did like the horse... good job

Thanks again Paul for your complement. Matthew, thanks for your constructive critique. I agree that the lobster doesnt look so compartmentalized. I should have modelled each part of the lobster seperately rather than blotching it together in one mesh.

This next model is my beloved hippo. It was hard finding good references of the hippo completely out of the water, but I managed to mix and match some pictures to this final result. I hope everyone enjoys.

Day 6- hippo

This next model is mr squid. I wish I had done things a little differently with this model. If I had to do things over, I would have modelled the tentacles first then the body. If I did this, I could have added more details on the tentacles. Anyway a 1 day challenge doesnt give us time for mistakes. I must move on.

Does anyone know how to render wireframe in 3ds max?

It awesome you are going for the hardest ones. You seem to have your own style which is really cool.

I really like how the horse feels and the lobster! the horse feels stumpy and well built as if it's a work horse which i love! But the neck does look not quite right almost to thick and short i dunno maybe thats what you were going for. but Good job on both of those! andd even better is that you have done all organic models so props to you! You're the only one on here i've seen so far with that many organics it's good to see someone is tackling this side of the competition!

Okay, this is 5 days late. School started!

thanks Noggy and YenCarey. I started off with the organics because I figured it would be best to get them out of the way while I am still on summer break. Unfortunately break is over and school has started, which means i have less time to complete the models. All I can say is thank god for Zbrush!

This Ipod was harder than I thought. Im striving to get better at rendering and texturing. I failed at my goal of 3 hours, but I will keep shooting for it.

Description- ipod
Time- 8 hours, 4hrs modelling, 4hrs rendering.

Like the models thus far, nakaikoi. The organic, "clay-ish" texture on the creature models gives them a very unique feel, and I love the ipod model.

Hope you can make it all the way to gold... Keep up the good work! :thumbsup:
