I have a mesh that I am ready to rig, but I want to help prevent some of the problems I have had in the past. What I started off doing was taking a clone of the low-poly mesh and chopping it up into little pieces to act as the bones, makes it easier to do initial weighting I suppose. But what I am interested in is the Biped object.
I know it's fairly dynamic, but I'm not sure if it would fit with my mesh. The character is a four armed snake torso'ed alien, so it doesn't exactly fit into the normal biped shape. I was wondering if there were any way to alter the biped enough to accomodate a non-bipedal body type.
Even if not, do you have any suggestions for techniques that I should use on this guy in particular?
