View Full Version : Can you remove C4D window bar in OS X like Blender??
3DBond 08-25-2006, 01:04 AM Hello folks,
I'm just wondering if anyone is aware of a utility or something that enabled OS X/C4D users to hide the top window title bar (not the top menu bar) like the way Blender does it.
To be clear, I mean the the bar with the Close, Min and Max buttons as well as the document name which I'm not terribly concerned about because if I really can't remember the doc name I can click Window in the C4D menu.
It just frustrates me that all that space is completely wasted by a mostly useless (to me) title bar.
In Blender a simple click of the Maximize button gets rid of the title bar.
Thanks in advance.

Press ctrl+tab in any area of C4D to maximize that area fully (on windows this gets rid of both the start bar and the window frame, i can't remember if it hides the window frame in osx or not.

Thanks for the reply Per. Yes it does hide the Window frame in OS X.
I was actually hoping for a solution that doesn't involve entering Full Screen mode. I like FS mode at times, but not when I want to access lots of tools quickly because then palettes just get in the way and it's not like Photoshop where you can just move the canvas over because then obviously your viewing angle changes.

Ok, I've been playing around with this a little. I didn't realize before that after entering Full Screen Mode that you could proceed to add/remove palettes willy nilly just like in 'Normal' mode.
This works great and achieves exactly what I want it to, the only problem is if I save the layout and then reload it, the stupid window title bar pops up again! It seems modifying Full Screen Mode in essence takes you out of FS Mode.
So is it at all possible to save a layout in Full Screen Mode and have it load in the same FS Mode after saving the layout?
Or, again, does anyone know of a way to kill the window title bar like you can in Blender?
Just a reminder that this is for OS X.

did you try to start blender with "-w" as option in the command line?

did you try to start blender with "-w" as option in the command line?Nope. I don't run Blender in the Command Line. But it's actually Cinema I'd like to have open without the Window Title bar, similar to how Blender is able to.
Thanks for the reply though. :)
