I'm making a scene with some friends, and I need to export in .3ds. But I can only manage to import .3ds; anyone know how to export 3ds files?

maybe export as obj, and use deep exploration to convert it as 3ds.

just a thought.

if you dont have deep exploration...there are some free routes to take...

FBX file format plugins
www.kaydara.com
[FBX is a bridge format that can carry aniamtion,UV,and other info between packages]

WINGS3d
www.wings3d.com
[wings imports 3ds and exports obj]

thanks for the replies; but unfortunatly none worked out.
I don't have deep exploration; the FBX plug-ins just freeze Maya while its starting up. As for Wings3D, it exports objs and imports 3ds, it does the same thing as Maya, i need something that exports 3ds.

Any ideas?

The Free MAX obj Importer/exporter is at:
http://www.habware.at/duck4.htm

Works fine in Max5... it can import/export obj retaining their quads too ;)
