Title: Holocaust
Name: Israel Bar Rashi
Country: Israel
Software: 3ds max, Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush

Few months ago was the holocaust memorial day and i strongly felt like recreating a scene from the holocaust. so i looked for a photo that i could attache to, and started working on it slowly with kinda long breaks at the middle, and finally, i got to finish it. i could of kept on working on it many more hours, but i gotta continue on, hope you like it.

Awsome work. I love the pose !
Touching and sad, the atmosphere is good also.

You manage to tell a whole story and this is another thing I love about this work.
Way to go !

First time I get to see a work dealing with an issue such as the holocaust. Inspiring.

All the best,
N

somehow i wish there was somthing else with color in the picture, like in shindler's list with the orange dress i think, could add alot, otherwise really good.

I think the pose is hurting this image. It's very unnatural and rigid. you should get into a similar pose in front of a mirror and see how that looks.

Other than that, good image. The model looks solid.

edit-Oops, didn't notice the reference image. Guess that makes my critique moot. Good job hitting it.

Nice work, texturing is very fine, and the pose. Whish i could do like that kind of work.........

It is very hard to make a comment on something as emotionally charged as this. That is probably why I avoid similar subjects. A few things. I think it might be more personal if the character was looking tword the camera.(I can see that would deviate from your referance ) Also I can see that you just attached your hands on the end of the coat you should either change the camera angle or extrude the sleeves in a bit and add the wrist and a bit of the forarm to the arm. The environment is very good and a stellar job on the beard. Overall a great image.

Great stuff, we all need to be reminded of what dictators can do with power. I like the tone in the scene. Two things: I don't know why, but he looks posed. Might be the left hand, he isn't putting weight on it. The other thing was that the left ankle look bent like it's broken.

However I would like to critique the pose. As one commentator earlier said, its unnatural. Even when compared to your reference image. The back should be hunched more, and somehow your interpretation is lacking the effect of gravity overall. It reminded me of the old drunken-style kung-fu master of Sega's old video-game. The pose is similar, and one could imagine the movement would be also.
Anyway, that was just construcvtive critique. The subject is important, and far too serious to make fun out of. So the above was only to demonstrate my point, not to make fun out of it.

hi there

very impressive , great modeling the hands are wow. as for the coat and cloth materials i think the folds or wrinkled should be less crisp and some thing there is too stiff to my eye.

ather wise good job!
