View Full Version : bump map :eraseing or calming down bm?

i have created my bump map but some of the bump wrinkles or scars are two fierce .

can i use a brush in photoshop to calm down areas i like or even brush outwards areas i need more?

almost useing a eraser to just softly partial erase the bump or irratations.

hope im explaining this ok.

Well, there's many ways to do what you're after, many you've already described. You could use an eraser with a low opacity (like 10%) to partially remove some of the bump that you don't want. If your bitmap is midgrey with black for in bump and white for out bump, you can paint on a layer above the color grey, and then play with the layer's opacity to partially dul down the bumps. Or in the future, paint your different bumps on different layers, then you can use stuff like layer masks to modulate the bumps. Hope that helps.

Thanks, i thought it would be simple,but ithought it might be with the burn /dodge tools.
