A couple of things you need to do with this image in my opinion are:
- turn on shadows for lights ,
- dont make textures that repetitive
- make a more interesting composition with the objects you have
- read up on color theory

I think you should use some GI.
In max5 You will find LightTracer - nice system for GI...

With a few changes in lighting, and textures this could end up being pretty cool. The tangy colours are a little too wierd for my tastes, try to aim for some more realism. Also, the lighting is way off, set a primary light source and give some weaker bounce lights from the appropriate walls and floor and such. Keep it up!
