Hi All

Hope you guys/gals can give us a few tips on the subjects below.

I've just captured a load of DV footage, (PAL: 720x576/1.067/fps25), that will rendered as a DVD format: "MPEG2"

1) I known what frame ratio I will be using PAL 720x576, but I need to use this DVD for both TV & CD ROM " Not Broadcast" so what do use square pixels or 1.07.

2) I captured my DV footage at 1.067 but within after effects there are no options to use such a ratio only 1.07, is that going to cause me any problems?

3) What’s the best method for me to correct light from pulsating within my footage. Would I just use the stabilize option with AF, or is there a better option?

4) I also find each actor speaking at different pitch/amp levels than other actors. One of the actors within my video is just speaking to softly, how would I match the pitch of all the actors. I.e. normalize the volume.

5)When colour-correcting footage, is it best to correct the whole footage. Or to cut/edit them into small segments and then match them again at the end.

Thank you in adv, any advice would be appreciated.

So ....

1) I would prefer 1.067. So it looks reight on a tele. DV is also taped in 1.067 so definitly take it.

2)1.07 is the same. it is just rounded. like 1.067. in fact it is an infinite comma. 1.06666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666.....

3)Dont understand the question. Pulsating. Is it too bright or is it moving????

4)Yeah you could nomalize it, but I think you will reach earlier than you want the border. You could do a... darn, donn't know the word. Im not from the sound departement.

5)Since you have your scenes, I would cc in little steps. You have to be flexible i.e. when the lighting differs. If its same through quite a bit you can copy paste your cc to the scenes.

6) Hope it helps,
igor

The 1.07 ratio won't cause you any problems.

For the color correction did you shoot any reference cards in the subject lighting?

Thanks for all you advice.

saltchrome: This I should have done, so I could pick out my B/W points. Well I'll make sure I use those cards next time.

BadG3r: What I meant by the light pulsating, is that the exposure vaules are jumping around.
Thats because of the bright sunlight that was shining through the window.

Thanks again
