Ooolite (http://oolite.aegidian.org/)the free re-imagination of classic space combat game 'Elite' is running a competition to create an updated model of the Cobra Space ship (http://oosat.alioth.net/node/95).

Competition ends October 22nd. I'm sure the talented people round here can come up with something which looks a bit better than the models Ooolite currently uses: :D

I'm really hoping to get the time to enter this myself, but thought there might be some people interested here too!

This would be a badass MGAC. You should post a link to this thread in the current MGAC thread and maybe the winner will choose this for the next one. You'd probably get some good stuff, and I know I'd certainly be interested in working on it.

For anybody who's interested, they list the poly limits on that page as 320 verts or 512 poly and the .zip file has a sample 512 texture map, a .obj file and a Wings3D file.

Great idea, it would be really cool. I'll try and work out where I need to put a post, is it here?:

no, that is the UGAC, Swizzle meant the MGAC (Mini game Art Challenge). See the latest MGAC here:

Ahh! thanks, I've posted to the end of the current thread.

I'm really excited about this, but am sadly completely bogged down at work. Hopefully I'll find the time though!!
